Chinese enterprises made non-financial direct investments of RMB57.1 billion in 54 countries along the Belt and Road in the first six months of this year, up by 23.8% year on year (or USD8.12 billion, up by 19.4% year on year), taking up 15.8% of the total over the same period of time with an increase of 3.2 percentage points from the previous year. The investment mainly flew to Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Kazakhstan and UAE.
Regarding the overseas contracted projects, the number of the newly-signed contracts by Chinese enterprises in 59 countries along the Belt and Road amounted to 2,289 with a total contract value of RMB424.02 billion, taking up 56.3% of China’s total contract value of the newly-signed overseas contracted projects over the same period of time, going down 1.7% year on year (or USD60.3 billion, down by 5.2% year on year). The turnover reached RMB250.12 billion, taking up 58.7% of the total, down by 4.4% year on year (or USD 35.57 billion, down by 7.8% year on year).
